Live in Concert, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Western Massachusetts, is dedicated to expanding the audience for new music by presenting works by living composers in collaboration with other artistic media, including dance, poetry, film, and computer-assisted technologies.

Live in Concert, Inc. made its debut presentation in 2006-07 with Itasca and the concert version of Our American Cousin.

Live in Concert, Inc

 

The organization supported the staged version of the opera in 2008.

The group received a generous grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) and Meet The Composer for educational outreach activities surrounding these performances.

Made possible in part by Live In Concert, puppetry artist Miguel Romero and his students crafted Curiosity, a new puppet theater piece in 2009.

The production features a live score performed by female voices a cappella, and mostly without words, to a series of vignettes and film animation loosely based on the Pandora myth and celebrating curiosity.

In 2013 Live in Concert presented The Garden of Martyrs opera. The organization received grants from NEFA Meet The Composer, and The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.

Subsequent productions will showcase a variety of collaborative artistic teams as part of an ongoing series of multimedia concerts throughout Western MA and greater New England.
